The mBot is the perfect introduction to Makeblock. It’s

quick and easy to assemble but has plenty of sensors to

keep your students interested. mbot has an ultrasonic

distance sensor, can measure light levels, has a line follower

and has a buzzer and RGB LED for outputs. The infrared

sensors can be used to send messages and data between

mBots and the robot can also be controlled with the

infrared controller included in the kit

(requires CR2025 coin cell).

Do I need the Bluetooth or 2.4GHz version?

The version you need depends on how you want

to program your mBot. Essentially, the Bluetooth

version is used if you want to program using an

iPad or Android tablet and the 2.4GHz version

is used if you want to use a Windows desktop

PC, laptop or a Mac (although these can be

used to program the Bluetooth version if the

computer has a compatible Bluetooth feature)
