Ozobot 2.0 Bit Robots
Expand your child’s horizons with the help of Ozobot Bit, the tiny
smart robot.
There’s no end to the possibilities, as your child creates a different
landscape of adventures, games and coding with Ozobot Bit.
Imagine, a learning toy that opens the doors of computer science,
STEM Education, robotics and coding, putting your child one step
ahead of the learning curve in school and in life.
Starting with colour markers, Ozobot takes kids on a fun and
mesmerising experience through creative drawing, problem solving
and group challenges using colour code commands in the form of
basic colour combinations.
Ozobot Bit’s ability to learn your programs, and then play them
back is a big game changer to how young minds play and learn.
OzoBlockly - a web-based visual editor - offers five step-up modes
from icon-based to loops, logic and equation blocks to appeal to
young kids and even to challenge the seasoned programmer.
Ozobot Bit is a multi-award winning toy robot including 2015
Kapi’s Best Robot toy, 2015 Toy of the Year (TOTY) finalist and CES
2015 Editor’s Choice award winner.
Ozobot Bit is available in Crystal White or Titanium Black.

mBot V1.1 Blue
Bluetooth Enabled
STEM Robot Kit
The mBot with Bluetooth from Makeblock is the perfect
introduction to robotics for STEM or personal use. It is based
around the mCore programmable module with Arduino UNO
compatibility which brings with it excellent online educational and
tutorial resources. The mCore has a wide range of programming
options from novice to expert using free Open Source tools
including mBlock, a graphical Scratch-like programming tool,
all the way up to C/C++ using the Arduino development tools.
You will be able to use the kit’s range of sensors including an
ultrasonic range finder, LED line follower, and light sensor. It also
has a buzzer and an RGB LED so your creation can flash and
bleep messages to you. Finally, there’s an infrared receiver and
transmitter that you can use to control the bot using the remote
control included in the kit (requires 1 x CR2025 coin cell, not
supplied). The infrared can even be used to talk between mBots if
you are feeling ambitious.

Hexapod Arduino
Powered Robotics Kit
The
Hexy Hexapod from Seeed Studio
includes everything you need to
build your own 6-legged robot, there’s even a spare leg! The legs are fully
articulated with 3 x servos each (18 servos) and Hexy is 305mm wide
by 178mm long depending on how you pose it. In front it has a servo-
mounted ultrasonic distance sensor to avoid collisions and scan its
environment. An Arduino based Servotor32 robot controller is part of the
kit which is capable of controlling 32 servos. With so much articulation
Hexy is capable of a very wide range of movements, walking, dancing,
waving and everything in between. Open source software is available for
download to manage the Servotor32 board and many examples of how
to use it are available online. There’s also the PoMoCo software (Position
Motion Controller) which simplifies scripting of movements for Hexy;
available to download from Github.

4WD Mecanum
Wheel Robot Kit
Includes Motors, Mounts & Fixings
The
4WD Mecanum Wheel Robot Kit from
Seeed Studio
builds into a robot base that your
microcontroller (MCU) can drive forwards, backwards,
sideways and can rotate on the spot. Add an MCU
and motor drivers then watch this wheeled robot drive
sideways, 45 degrees or any other angle. By careful
arrangement of the clever Mecanum wheels you get
complete control of the direction of travel. The kit
has two decks, you could hide the basic electronics
and batteries on one and use the other for sensors,
displays and controls. This compact, rugged robot
platform is even capable of carrying up to 10kg,
definitely not a toy!
