Whitley Bay Smoke Cell
The Whitley Bay smoke cell is used for the observation
of ‘Brownian’ or random motion in smoke particles.
It consists of a box with flanges that allow it to be
easily attached to a standard microscope. The box
contains a smoke cell, a cylindrical condensing
lens and a 12V, 3W festoon bulb.
The apparatus is pre-set to focus
the light at the correct
height.
